40 Free Autumn Themed Crochet Patterns
1. Plaid Boot Cuffs by Whistle and Ivy
Nothing says fall like plaid and boot cuffs! This pattern works up quickly and you can create any color combination that you prefer. Super fun! Plus, she also has a whole line of plaid crochet patterns, so make sure you check them all out.
2. Pumpkin Rug by Knot Bad
Have you met Vincent yet from Knot Bad? He designed and created this adorable pumpkin rug that would look amazing in your home or nursery!
3. Autumn Sunrise Infinity Scarf by Highland Hickory Designs
This scarf blends together all the colors of an Autumn sunrise with this lovely yarn from Caron Simply Soft. The lacy infinity scarf will keep you warm, but not too hot in the chilly weather!
4. Stuffed Pumpkin Earrings by Divine Debris
Amber from Divine Debris has a winner with these sweet little pumpkin earrings! I love how tiny they are and that you can customize the colors.
5. Hello Fall Banner by Sisters, What!
This banner would look super cute on your wall or door. How about your office? A gift for a neighbor? It’s so friendly and fun.
6. Acorn Hand Towel by Highland Hickory Designs
This is a corner to corner (C2C) project for a towel that would look festive in either your kitchen or bathroom. It would also make a great holiday or hostess gift!
7. Back to School Crocheted Apples by 5 Little Monsters
Time to harvest some apples! Wouldn’t these look adorable in a large bowl as a table centerpiece? They would also make great gifts for teachers.
8. Crochet pumpkins that look like knit by Malloo Knits
Wow! These really do look like they are knit! I had to read the post just to make sure I wasn’t wrong. And don’t they look fabulous in these rustic neutral colors?
9. Rustic Fall Crochet Headband by Loopingly Made
This headband is super cute and you can make it in baby sizes all the way up to adult! This is perfect for keeping your ears warm and your style on point this fall.
10. Halloween Bag Trio by Highland Hickory Designs
Okay, so this one is actually a set of three — a ghost, a scarecrow and a jack-o’-lantern — but I thought that the scarecrow alone could qualify as a fall themed pattern. Great for gift bags or home decor!
11. Mini Pumpkin Earrings by Nicki’s Homemade Crafts
What autumn outfit would be complete without a pair of pumpkin earrings? This pattern would also make a great pendant for a necklace or an applique for just about anything!
12. Autumn Leaf Coaster by Simple Things Crochet
Tia from Simple Things Crochet says that this is an “advanced beginner” pattern, but shouldn’t be a problem if you can follow a pattern. I love the look of these coasters and I think they would also make cute appliques as well.
13. Upcycled Sunflowers by Highland Hickory Designs
The Upcycled Sunflowers are crocheted around a ring from a gallon milk jug! You can make picture frames, tea light candle holders, napkin rings and more with these bright flowers.
14. Acorn Baby Hat by Lakeview Cottage Kids
There just aren’t enough words to describe the Acorn Baby Hat’s cuteness! Simple and sweet…can’t beat that!
15. Fall Maple Leaves by The Painted Hinge
Slightly more detailed than the leaves above, these fall maple leaves finish up at 4″ across and 4″ high (without the stem). Coasters? Appliques? Table top decor? How would you use them?
16. Pumpkin Pie Pot Holder by Kelly Maust
This pattern is a free Ravelry download so you may need an account to get your hands on this tasty pie. You could reasonably use these all the way through Thanksgiving!
17. Pumpkin Placemat by Highland Hickory Designs
Another pattern that utilizes the several shades of orange in the Caron Simply Soft Gold Ombre yarn. The varying colors give depth to the granny squares with little effort!
18. Pumpkin Basket by Dessert Blossom Crafts
I love that this basket uses tapestry crochet to create the pumpkins rather than appliques. Sometimes you just don’t feel like sewing. Plus, there are so many options for what to put in it…apples, small pumpkins, gourds, yarn, yarn and more yarn… Just sayin’. ๐
19. Harvest Button Napkin Ring by Fiber Flux
Quick, easy and simple in design, but don’t they make a statement!? I adore the wooden buttons too. What a wonderful way to decorate your table this holiday season!
20. Leafly Beanie Hat by Wilmade
Ooooohhhh, the yarn she used for the leaf portion of this hat is stunning! I love the sparkle and autumn colors against the neutral base. Very pretty!

These are so adorable and look incredibly easy to make! The cinnamon stick stem and sweet bow put these pumpkins over the top. I need some!

To add to the maple leaf patterns above, we have the oak leaf pattern! Fill a bowl, make a garland, use as an applique…there are so many uses!
29. Upcycled Pumpkins by Highland Hickory Designs
These upcycled pumpkins are crocheted around the ring that you can remove from the base of the lid of a water bottle! String them together for a garland, add a photo, use as a napkin ring or an ornament for your tree. They even have a spiral wire vine!

I love this shade of orange! Don’t you? This ear warmer looks so soft and squishy. And Krista from Rescued Paw Designs says that it is easy to make, works up quickly, and the pattern is easily adjusted for sizing!
32. Autumn Joy Slouch Hat by Highland Hickory Designs
This is an intermediate level pattern. What I love about it is that the lacy flower design keeps your head from being too hot in milder weather, but still fights off that chill when it’s colder. A great gift for teens as well!
33. Candy Apple Kawaii Cuddler by 3 a.m. Grace Designs
Fall means the county fair here in Pennsylvania and one of the things I think of as delicious fair food is the candy apple! Yum! This kawaii cuddler is the epitome of adorable!
34. University Scarf by Sewrella
It’s back to school time! And it’s also school spirit and football season! Ashleigh’s University Scarf can easily be customized to your school’s or team’s colors. Definitely a fall staple!
35. Rustic Boot Cuffs by Highland Hickory Designs
The Rustic Boot Cuffs have a slightly Victorian feel with the lace trim and row of buttons. Once autumn hits the area, we break out our boots and what better way to accessorize than to add boot cuffs! Trendy and fun!

37. Succulent Pumpkin Planter by One Dog Woof
The construction and design of this succulent pumpkin planter is not what I imagined. She essentially made a donut shape with a bottom…genius! These are so cute and you can make different sizes.

I just love the idea of using the pumpkins as the pockets for this super scarf. It’s adorable in every way and pumpkin everything for fall is definitely the way to go!

Sunflower granny squares! You can make any size blanket you can imagine. How about a lap blanket for someone in a wheelchair? Or a king sized blanket for your bed?
