The Realistic Sea Turtle Graph is an ADVANCED level graph that uses Tapestry Crochet to create a realistic image of a sea turtle. At the bottom of this post, there are free printable 4-page graphs, but you have the option to buy more. Keep reading to find out what’s included!
You can use this pattern for Tapestry crochet (sc), cross stitch, Tunisian crochet or any other craft that utilizes a graph. The finished product when using single crochets will be quite large.
Also note:
You can use this graph for corner to corner or mini or micro corner to corner, but please keep in mind that your finished product will be enormous. I highly recommend using the micro C2C if you’re determined to use this crochet method. Feel free to use the calculators below if you are interested in using C2C or mini or micro C2C to determine an approximate finished blanket size.
This is an ADVANCED level pattern that uses 7 different yarn colors. I do not offer yarn brand suggestions. You may have to use several brands in order to get different shades of blue-green when creating the blue version. Just make sure all of your skeins are the same yarn weight.
PLEASE NOTE: The blue version is exactly the same as the red version as far as the blocks go. The only difference is the color choices. I couldn’t decide which version I liked better, so I included both! However, you can use any color combinations you wish.
The graph is 240 squares high by 245 squares wide.
If you purchase the full pattern using the link at the bottom of this post, your purchase will include 3 PDF’s & 2 zip files.
PDF’s for red version:
1. A nine page graph with a link to video instructions for assembling your nine page graph into one giant graph. (It’s easier to see!) PLUS the total number of blocks by color in a handy table where you can write down your project notes and a resource links list.
2. The SC or Tapestry crochet written line-by-line instructions.
3. Line-by-line color block instructions.
Zip files:
4. Everything needed for C2C — line-by-line written instructions and line-by-line color block instructions for both blue and red versions.
5. The first 3 PDF’s above, but in the blue version.
PLEASE NOTE: The one page graph is very tiny and almost impossible to use as a guide for this project, but I’ve included it anyway as an overall image you can use to track your progress. I recommend using the larger four or nine page graph when crocheting.
I’ve created some calculators for you to be able to determine how much yarn you need as well as an approximate finished size of your project. If you click the links below, you’ll be taken to different blog posts where the calculators are located.
