I can’t wait! I’m so ready for flowers, short sleeves, open windows and sunshine. I’ve always felt like Easter was the unofficial kickoff to Spring. It’s just that this year, Easter is very early. Here in Pennsylvania, we’ll be dealing with the white stuff for several more weeks.

Isn’t it fun to decorate the eggs at Easter time? My boys always have a blast making a huge mess all over my kitchen table, dye and vinegar everywhere! I don’t mind though. It’s fun just watching them have fun.

Water’s Edge Kimono
Hey there!
I’d like to believe that Spring is here since we’ve passed the daylight savings time clock change, but it just so happens to be snowing right now. Hopefully, wherever you are, the weather is warmer.
Even though it’s cold today, I designed this beautiful Water’s Edge Kimono in the hopes that Spring would hurry up. I think sometimes Mother Nature needs a good swift kick in the pants! Ha! I’m only fooling myself though. She’ll do whatever she wants.

Spring is just around the corner and I cannot wait! St. Patrick’s Day seems to be a confirmation that, yes, indeed, winter is coming to a close and there is a light at the end of this frigid tunnel.
But, besides that, who doesn’t love St. Patrick’s Day? Ireland — beautiful. Luck — everyone can use that. Gold — wish I had some. Green beer — well…I don’t know about that one. 😛
Rustic Boot Cuffs

Today, I’d like to share my latest design for these simple, yet stunning boot cuffs!
When I set out to design them, I knew that I wanted something a little feminine and a little country or rustic, but I had no set design in mind. And it was actually when I was shopping for buttons and sifting through spools upon spools of ribbon and trim, that the style was decided — A beautiful umber colored wool, buttons that looked like wood grain and an antiqued somewhat lacy trim.

Have you ever wished that you could get your hands on that pesky little leprechaun’s gold at the end of a rainbow? I know I have…even as an adult! Ha! Imagine all the yarn it would buy…. *Sigh*

Aspen Tweed Cowl
Well hello there!
Last week I released the pattern for the Aspen Tweed Hat that included the directions for a messy bun style hat or a beanie with or without a pompom. You can see the hat pattern at the link.

Aspen Tweed Mittens
Hi everyone!
I’m back again with another winter wear set for women! The Aspen Tweed Hat can be seen at this link and the Aspen Tweed Cowl can be seen at this link. There’s nothing like looking coordinated with a matching set.
The Aspen Tweed mittens were crocheted using Lion Brand Yarn Hometown USA, which is a super bulky size yarn and I tell you what — these mittens are so thick and warm! I’m incredibly happy with how well this entire set turned out.
Special Stitch For The Aspen Tweed Hat
This tutorial is not for the traditional half double crochet 2 together stitch that uses both loops on both stitches. You are still creating a decrease in stitches, but this special stitch uses the front loop of the first stitch and the back loop of the next stitch or vice versa. It’s used in the pattern called the Aspen Tweed Hat.
