In this post, I’ve created a yarn calculator for C2C projects where you can input your Corner to Corner or Mini Corner to Corner project details and receive instant feedback for the total amount of yarn you need as well as the number of skeins. Let’s give it a try…
Do you need a yarn calculator for a sc/hdc/dc project? Click this link here to be taken to that calculator.
So, I’ve created two calculators: the first requires measurements in inches/yards and the second requires measurements in centimeters/meters. For the first question in the calculator, you are asked what is the length of yarn used in one block. This works for both Corner to Corner and Mini Corner to Corner stitches. I’ve created a video that demonstrates how to measure the length of your yarn. Please skip ahead to the 4 minute mark and be sure to use the hook and yarn you intend to complete your project with. You can see that video here:
You can use this calculator to figure out the amount of yarn used for one color OR you can figure out the amount of yarn used for the entire project. Please note that if you are searching for the amount of yarn used for one color, that you may need to input data for each color used in the project for the full amount of yarn and skeins needed.
If your pattern doesn’t tell you the number of blocks per color, you can simply take the number of blocks wide and multiply it times the number of blocks in the height to get the total number of blocks in the project.
Calculator for inches/yards:
Also note that in the “skeins needed” section of the calculator, you will need a whole number of skeins. If your answer returns with a decimal, simply round up one whole number for your total skeins needed.
Calculator for centimeters/meters:
And that’s it! I truly hope you enjoy this Yarn Calculator for C2C Projects! If you have any questions, please leave a comment below this post or email me directly at highlandhickorydesigns@gmail.com.
